Hipstamatic Addiction

If you are into iphone photography, Hipstamatic is one of the coolest camera apps. The camera acts like a real camera in a few ways. Firstly, you choose different films, lenses, and flashes – which all give you different looks depending on how you match them. Also, you can choose to use the flash or not (which is really a fake flash that flashes internally, not on the exterior of the phone). You can see a dramatic difference in flash verses no flash. Also, I love that you never know what your picture is going to look like until it is developed (just like real photography). You really have to download the app and try it for yourself. I would much rather show you my pics from yesterday than talk about it…

Rebuilding and Rendering

Things are moving fast here at Janimation. We are rendering out some beautiful work in the 3D and motion graphics worlds. Our Flash work is looking stellar, too. It’s exciting to be a part of the talent in this place.

I potentially brought in a really big client that we are pitching next week. If we get the job, I’ll tell you all about it. The client should be happy with our idea, and if so I can’t wait to see the final product. I am so excited, but I can’t say anything about it!

This week is E3 Expo in Los Angeles. We are showing some killer work and networking like crazy. I wish all my fellow Janimators success and safety while traveling up there. I’m also feeling mildly jealous about the weather you are basking in…

Happy Anniversary

My wife and I have been married 7 years today. We have been through a ton of struggles, good times, bad times, joys, pains, issues, dilemmas, happinesses, loves, hates, births, deaths, cities, places… I can’t say that things have been perfect everyday, but I can say that I would do it all over again with her, and am looking forward to the next 70 years together!

I suck again!

Man, I do not have time to blog at all! This is insane. It’s probably a good thing that people don’t come here to actually read anything, because I am so incredibly busy with work at Janimation. I am so happy in my new job that I love how busy I am. For the first time in a long time, I am leading a lot of awesome projects from sale to delivery. This is an incredible fit for me both culturally, as well as artistically.

The DART

I like the convenience and experience of riding the TRE and DART in Dallas. I love that I can save gas mileage, wear on my car, and avoidance of accidents. Cool stuff. I hate. I hate. I hate the time it takes between trains in the evening. I hate the nazi DART “police / rent-a-cops” who gave me a ticket because I did not have the correct fare and ticket. These bastards heard me tell them that my ticket had been checked by other officers who never told me to get a different ticket, and still gave me a $75 ticket. This is a rant. Nothing more.

Busy busy

Haven’t had time to blog much lately. A couple of weeks ago I was laid off from my job of 3 years. After the lay off, I was slammed trying to get my sites and portfolio together, plus make a resume that did not suck. Trust me, that was tough! After working 2 weeks contract at Janimation, they offered me a full-time gig. I am super super excited about this place. The talent at this place is inspiring, and the level of work is fully awesome. I am grateful to them for bringing me on. I’ll post some new work soon. in the meantime, check out Janimation.
